However, if you go back to India’s past, the very concept of Tirth Yatra is a testament to the fact that our ancestors well understood the concept of travel as not just a source of learning of life and its various mysteries, but also of a way of getting in touch with your spiritual self.

Fast forward to today and push your Google Maps to the north at Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Till a few days back, group of 40 girls carried through their everyday life, waking up, going to school and back home and then back to school, dreaming of a bright future. And so, they worked hard and earned merit in their board examinations. But seldom did they know that all of them will share an overwhelming fate, in fact, fortune-they were the chosen ones of their MP Anurag Thakur’s Sansad Bharat Darshan.

When they left Hamirpur, they were unknown citizens of Himachal Pradesh, unrecognised and coy, but now go talk to them! A mere five days trip has transformed them into active citizens of the world ready to tackle any challenge. They took flights, which was first time experience for many of them, and travelled to Bangalore and Pune. The girls of Himachal visited ISRO satellite centre, National Defence Academy, Army Centre in Bangalore, Bangalore Tech Summit and many more. Everywhere they received VIP welcome that perhaps their MP would have received. Where would you see a more representative form of democracy? People getting the VIP welcome! PM Modi’s mantras of Beti Bachao, Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and UDAN, all put to action in one scheme of Sh. Anurag Thakur.

But then again, Sh. Anurag Thakur is known for his out-of-box ideas-Sansad Mobile Swasthya (SMS) Seva, Sansad Star Khel Mahakumbh and many more, all aimed at helping his people in Himachal Pradesh to get a better life. BJP is undoubtedly proud of such creative people in its army as Anurag Thakur and hope that 2019 will further strengthen us towards a New India.
