55 years of Congress government vs 55 months of Modi Government

There’s a clear difference in how the two governments have performed. Taking into consideration the time span, the time NDA government took in reforming our nation is just 55 months, while the UPA government even after 55 years couldn’t bring much change. We have witnessed a great difference in our economy, and various reforms for the welfare of the people are inaugurated by the NDA government. I feel there were serious issues in legislature, from Rafale to joblessness, to the ranch emergency, and how the Congress government had failed terribly in addressing them & building a stronger nation.

I will further discuss BJP’s accomplishments with statistics & figures to guarantee that BJP had achieved considerably more in each segment over the most recent 55 months in contrast with the Congress 55 years of rule.

Modi ji has assured that those who have robbed the nation will continue to be scared of Narendra Modi. He also promised to come down hard on those involved in corruption and expressed confidence that his government will return to power in the coming general elections.

The Congress rule of 55 years was about Satta-bhog while, Modi government was all about Sewa-bhav. Discussing the Commonwealth Games of 2010, Modi said, while the players were busy working hard to win medals for India, the event was an occasion for some in the Congress to boost personal wealth.

Below I have listed few essential points which show how Modi government in 55 months performed better than the Congress government in 55 years:

1)    Sanitation coverage: In their 55 years, sanitation handling was around 38% and under Modi government, it is nearly 98% in 55 months.

2)    Gas connections: In their 55 years, gas connections in the households were 12 crores, but today it is 13 crore in 55 months. Modi government has worked at a greater speed in five years.

3)    Digital India: The Congress in 2004 had promised that they would make every village of the country digital but it could provide an optical fiber network to just 95 villages till 2014. But in 55 months NDA government has provided broadband connectivity to about 1,16,000 villages.

4)    Growth & Development: In the last four and a half years, India became the sixth largest economy from the 10-11th position. The period 2014-19 has witnessed the fastest ever growth in the GDP i.e. 7.7 as compared to 6.7 which was the GDP for the period 2009-2014.  It has been a period of fiscal consolidation. The growth of real capita GDP (percent) has been 6.2 for the year 2014-2019 while it was just 5 till the year 2014

5)    Inflation: Inflation has been broadly under control, the inflation ranging to 10.1 before 2014 is now close to 2.7 percent.

6)    Infrastructure: India has become the largest highway developer in the world in the span of 55 months. Rural roads were built in 2013-14 at 69 km per day. It has increased to 134 km per day in 2017-18.

7)    Corruption: Referring to the Commonwealth Games of 2010, Modi Ji said while the players were working hard to win medals for India, the event was an opportunity for a few in the Congress “to boost personal wealth”. And in 55 months no charge sheet has been filed against Modi Ji’s party members.

8)    Schemes for ALL: Modi government has launched various schemes that have benefitted everyone in one way or another. While under the UPA government the officials and middlemen were benefitted.

Conclusion:

Under the Prime Minister propelled Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, each resident has assumed responsibility for their environment. Over 7.25 crore toilets have been constructed, and over 3.6 lakh towns and more than 17 States and Union Territories have been announced defecation free. In 55 months, the Modi government has been able to accomplish what was not reached in 55 years by the UPA government which was in power. Be it the economic, social, educational, or any other front, the Modi government has attempted to match the outlooks of people. The noteworthy and intense choices taken by the Prime Minister, without thought of the political results, have proved to be successful.

  1. Nice article chetan but I feel the country has progressed a lot in last 70 years, but to say progress occoured only in last 5 years is not true. In the end what matters is people of India their development and welfare is of paramount importance. People’s perceptions about development and government make a government and you ie BJP have a golden opportunity to come to power again. After that the real work will start and hopefully we will together make our country the best on Asia and world, which I feel is the dream of every Indian and Modiji . Jai Hind
